OC Food Festival Raises More Than $25K for Rebuilding Livelihoods E-mail
Tuesday, 02 August 2011 04:05

Displaying a continued sense of commitment and compassion for those most deeply affected by war and other hardship in Sri Lanka, our friends from “Anpuneri” (Path of Love) in Orange County, CA held a food festival fundraiser for the second year in a row with great success. The dedication and hard work of this generous group of individuals is clear to all. More than 280 adults and children attended the July 30th event, which featured a dinner of traditional Sri Lankan dishes, a kids talent show, and a presentation by IMHO President Dr. Kanaga Sena on IMHO’s efforts to improve health and medical services for those in need in Sri Lanka. More than $25,000 was raised thanks to the generosity of all the attendees and donors, all of which will help to restore livelihoods for families left displaced and struggling to put the pieces of their lives back together. The love and care of those who supported this event will help to get families who lost their primary breadwinners back on their feet again. IMHO wishes to thank all the organizers, volunteers, and donors for their efforts in helping to restore hope and to ensure a better tomorrow for so many war-affected families in Northern Sri Lanka.

Kroger Rewards Program: Get Your State Involved Today! E-mail
Monday, 25 July 2011 22:41

IMHO, as a registered partner of the Kroger Company grocery stores community giving program designed to support nonprofit organizations, receives 5% of all reloads on cards for which IMHO is listed as the specified beneficiary organization. Ohio Volunteers of IMHO started the Kroger Neighborhood Rewards Fund Raising Program in June 2009 to benefit IMHO. Texas recently joined Ohio in participating in this program, and their first rebate check of $255 for the period of May through July was given. This was done with just a few families signed up...think of what we can do if everyone living in a state with Kroger grocery stores gets involved!

The program is simple…first an IMHO volunteer signs up for the program with Kroger, receives the Kroger cards at no cost, then distributes to other consumers. Consumers first deposit money to the card at Kroger cashier counter using whichever means they prefer without paying any extra. Then, simply pay for the purchase of groceries or gas by swiping the card in lieu of cash or credit. You can reload the card as necessary so that you have enough funds on the card to pay for your purchases. Use of credit cards to deposit money to the Kroger card also allows the consumers to receive all benefits that come with the use of credit cards. For more information or to get involved, please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . This is an opportunity that IMHO volunteers and supporters living in states where there are Kroger stores should take advantage of.
