On Saturday, March 28th, IMHO held an event at the Elks Lodge in Woburn, Massachusetts focused on the current humanitarian crisis in Northeast Sri Lanka. After the presentations and a very moving video about the ground situation, the approximately 230 guests shared a nice meal together, prepared graciously by local families. In total, the event raised about $27,000, which was given for the immediate purpose of getting milk powder to children and pregnant women so desperately in need of such nutrition and energy. These supplies have since been deliverd within the conflict zone itself--the first such shipment to arrive in the conflict zone. We are very grateful to all you who made this a reality! |
