Plan a Fundraiser

Fundraisers are a vital component of IMHO’s financial support. Here are some simple steps to organize a fundraiser for IMHO:

                 * Come up with an idea
                 * Gather some friends to help make arrangements
                 * Receive materials from IMHO to make the event successful
*Tell us how it went, so we can share your success with others
*Consider setting up an online fundraising page on www.firstgiving.com and link                  to the IMHO Fundraising Page using this link: http://www.firstgiving.com/imho

There are countless different options for organizing a fundraiser for IMHO. The most common is to organize a dinner and charge a ticket price, reminding everyone the proceeds go to a tax-deductible charity. Some more uncommon fundraisers include: organizing concerts, bake sales, auctions, holiday or theme parties, marathons or sponsored runs, sports events, gift fairs, and art shows. Set a realistic fundraising goal, and spread the word through your friends, family, colleagues and even the local media to gain awareness and support. Tell IMHO you are organizing this event so we can provide you with materials, brochures, and multimedia content. To use the IMHO logo, you must receive prior approval. For those in the USA, please contact IMHO by phone at (718) 667-3535 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . For those in Canada, please contact IMHO Canada by phone at (416) 299-8100 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , or visit imhocanada.org. After the event, inform IMHO of its success. Provide IMHO with photos and a brief summary, so we can share this information with other supporters and encourage them to build upon your success.

IMHO is an organization that relies on the generosity of our private donors as our main source of income. As such, we are very grateful to all who support us in our many efforts and encourage such support. However, there are important guidelines that must be adhered to in order for IMHO to meet its legal and fiscal responsibilities. IMHO wishes to make the following disclaimer:

*The International Medical Health Organization (IMHO), including all subsequent domestic and international chapters, reserves the right to do a background check on any and all donors to the organization (be they individual, corporate, organizational, foundation, or other) and refuse any donation for any reason it deems appropriate.

IMHO encourages your support and enthusiasm in coordinating and implementing fundraising events on our behalf or for specific projects sponsored by our organization. Given our limited capacity to be directly involved in any event or fundraiser done on behalf of IMHO, we have outlined two types of support that IMHO is able to give in order to meet the particular needs of your fundraising event. These are an “official sponsorship” and a “beneficiary/recipient agreement”. Please review our Fundraising Guidelines for more information in the following document.
