EffortsSurvival rates for poor cancer patients is often bleak. Recognizing the need to support those from disadvantaged backgrounds who are battling cancer, IMHO provides support for medications and treatments for many of these patients. IMHO also supports the transportation expenses of those in need and has helped to establish an ambulatory chemotherapy unit. For the past 4 years IMHO has supported ongoing nutritional programs for elderly cancer patients. Other efforts have included training staff to care for cancer patients, and providing a laptop for a cancer registry so that doctors can now follow up with patients regularly and more easily.
