EffortsIMHO learned very quickly in its early stages that for it to be successful, it is necessary to have strong partners at the ground level. Even as a small organization, we have been very fortunate in having many dedicated individuals and partner organizations working with us. It is grassroots organizations that often make all the difference in the day-to-day living of people in need. And it is organizations like this that help convert the funds IMHO raises into projects that directly benefit needy people. Education and training of local doctors, nurses, health care workers, and others committed to improving the health and well-being of those in need is crucial to the success of all projects. They also promote sustainability through local empowerment. As such, IMHO has consistently contributed to efforts towards training and educating these persons both locally and abroad. IMHO also provides incentive allowances and other support for those serving rural or remote communities, beyond their required duties. Supporting medical students in their education is also an important part of IMHO's efforts. IMHO has contributed to these medical students' education, support for various expenses, providing a small allowance for those with economic difficulties, and even providing an internet cafe. Addressing economic independence of a family unit is an important aspect of social well-being of a community at large. IMHO has helped to address this critical issue as well, empowering local communities through microcredit/livelihoods programs, psychosocial training for widowed mothers, and education & psychological support for hundreds of children.
