EffortsIMHO helped to establish a dialysis unit in Jaffna, including providing dialysis machines, water treatment equipment, and the training of nurses. Funds were also given to establish renal funds at the Jaffna and Batticaloa Teaching Hospitals to provide dialysis for patients with financial difficulties. Batticaloa Teaching Hospital received its first dialysis machine from IMHO as well, meaning patients no longer have to travel to Colombo or Kandy for treatment. In addition, funds were sent to train staff and technicians in India for the dialysis units. |
